do the right thing questions

1.  Provide three scenarios by which characters are faced with situations by which they must do the "right" thing. In class we will talk about what their choices revealed about them. A scenario that stuck out to me was when the boys on were on the street and they sprayed water on the man driving by in the Cadillac. I thought this was disrespectful and definitely not the right thing. A second example of a situation where characters are faced with the chance to do the "right" thing is when the teenagers yell at da mayor. A last example is when Sal kicks buggin out out of the pizzeria. 2.  List at least two different binary and/or contrasting themes that appear in  Do the Right Thing. Old VS Young Black VS White Love VS Hate 3. In the script it mentions that in key scenes Radio Raheem blasts music from his boom box.  In class we discovered "Fight the Power" is the name of this song.  Discuss why the screenwriter chose that song during those scene...

I believe the script of Do the Right Thing doesn't provide a point about doing the "right" thing. Many examples in the script are of individuals doing the wrong thing. Instead of providing an alternative of something that would be considered the "right" thing, the author doesn't include anything similar to this. However, my definition of the right thing is far different compared to someone else. According to the script the "right" thing to do is to stand up for yourself and your family. Family meaning not only biological relatives but your race in general.
